Today, the Administration released approximately $3 billion in LIHEAP funds, which is 90% of the full year funding available under the FY 2016 Continuing Resolution. The remaining funding will be released once FY 2016 funding is finalized.
The release of these funds greatly impacts those states that spend the majority of their LIHEAP funds in the first quarter of the fiscal year. Many of these states are cold-weather states in which funds help families, individuals, seniors and other at-risk individuals cover the cost of heating their homes safely.
Below is a table showing the distribution of these funds by state, tribe, and territory (click on the images to enlarge them, or download the tables: 2016 initial LIHEAP release DCL_StateFundingTable).
