As part of the Campaign for Home Energy Assistance’s outreach efforts, we spend a lot of time engaging with a building relationships with public officials. Why? Because these individuals represent the communities who need LIHEAP assistance, and they can help us ensure that every family who needs additional support receives it.
A critical volume of the Campaign’s work, through its decades of Washington experience, is in reinforcing the LIHEAP message with essential members of Congress, the White House and the Administration–and pushing for the highest possible appropriation in the budget each year.
The Campaign facilitates and leads educational meetings on Capitol Hill, focusing on traditional congressional champions, budget committees, and new supporters in Congress.
Stay tuned to the LIHEAP.org blog and our social media pages (Facebook and Twitter) to stay up to date on the Campaign’s activities and outreach.
